An Donn Cuailgne from Inis Publications
Copies of The Brown Bull of Cooley and the Irish language version – An Donn Cuailgne – are making their way to Mac’s Bookshop, Upper Main Street, Buncrana today.
An Donn Cuailgne just arrived back from the printers yesterday evening, so it is literally hot off the presses. We did a short digital run of Irish language version and gave it a test drive to young readers. They loved it but we have since drawn up a short Glossary or Foclóirín at the back, for a few words which younger children may not be familiar with such as, “carbaid” which means “chariots”.
In addition to Mac’s Bookshop in Buncrana The Brown Bull of Cooley is now in stock in Farren’s of Moville, SuperValu in Carndonagh and Sprint in Letterkenny. For further information or enquiries or to place a bookshop order, please email email@example.com
The English version is ideal as a reader for 7-10 year olds and to be read out to younger children. An Donn Cuailgne is ideal to be read out to younger Irish speakers and as a reader for 3rd to 4th class Gaelscoil pupils, or 4th to 6th class pupils in other schools.
